tadpoles was composed in early 2021 while reminiscing on childhood escapades wandering the local creek near my home. In the spring and summer, tadpoles could be found swimming through the water.
This piece was written as a reflection of growing older and leaving the confines of the city I grew up in as I leave for collegiate studies, similar to the tadpoles' journey downstream. It is the last piece that I will complete while still in high school, and with it marks the end of a long journey and the beginning of a new one.
tadpoles was recorded at Allen High School during a rainy morning on May 20th, 2021, a day before my high school graduation.
