Zephyr I was originally written for 4.5 octave marimba, but this is a version arranged for 4.3 octave marimba. Both versions will be provided with purchase of the score.

Instrumentation
Zephyr (I. Forests) was originally written for solo 4-mallet marimba (4.5 octave).
An alternate edition will be provided for 4.3 octave marimba, which has been transposed up a minor third from the original.
I wrote Zephyr when I was sixteen, while reflecting on my experiences visiting Jiǔzhàigōu (九 寨 沟), or the Valley of the Nine Villages, a national park in Sichuan, China.
I. Forests was written about home, in the sense of where I was physically born (the United States).
